38 Mossbourne Rowers selected for the South East Team

Mossbourne rowers will make up over 50% of South East rowing team at Inter-Regional Regatta

The Mossbourne Federation’s Rowing Academy has been celebrating their outstanding recent success at the South East regional rowing trials, organised by British Rowing.

The trials were used to select the South East Team for the Inter-Regional Regatta, which will be held in April.

A total of 38 Mossbourne rowers were selected to represent the South East, which means that Mossbourne will make up over 50% of the team.

Year 11 Rower, Zaid Sabah, said: “It was brilliant to find out we won the trials and have been selected to represent the South East of the UK. I’m looking forward to racing the other regions at the regatta in April.”

Year 10 Rower, Jedidiah Fadiora, said: “We’ve all worked hard through the winter, I’m really pleased for the crew. It gives another goal to work towards in the spring.”

Tom Wilkinson, Head Rowing Coach, said: “I am so proud of all our students for their hard work and perseverance, which has really paid off in these trials.

“We are delighted to be representing the South East in April.

“At Mossbourne, we have always been keen to ensure that rowing is an inclusive sport which anyone can get involved in, and to be making up over half the South East team is brilliant.”
